Canadian experts have innovated an AI model called Blue Dot. On 31st December Blue Dot system alerted its client that the system had predicted the outbreak of the infection by the end of 2019. Additionally, Blue Dot was known to out-predict humans in spotting the infection disease outbreak since it made the announcement earlier than the World Health Organisation (WHO) who made an announcement on 9th January 2020 and since the spread was rapid the announcement was quite notable. Wuhan was responsible and known to be the centre of the pandemic. Therefore, a group of researchers working in Blue Dot recorded the top 20 cities where passengers from Wuhan will be arriving and they warned these cities would be in a leading position of transmitted covid cases. Blue Dot was developed using US$ 9 million which is known to be a low-cost AI tool.

AI can also be used to scan the temperature of people in public places like the shopping mall, universities, and social gatherings using thermal imaging for people with high temperatures who can potentially be infected. The infrared cameras can scan 200 persons per minute and will alert if a body temperature of an individual exceeds 37 degrees celsius. Furthermore, the camera can also detect if the social distancing protocol is being breached and will send out warnings.
